An asterism is a star-shaped concentration of reflected light from a gemstone. Asterisms can appear when a stone is cut en cabochon (shaped and polished). When a crystal has this it is often referred to as a star stone. This Rose Quartz Palm Stone contains an asterism! When held in the light at the right angle you can see this unique feature.
